Mindful Mama Sensory and Support

For the past year, I have been teaching a Mindful Mama Sensory and Support class at the Familienzentrum im Westend. Although I have mentioned it a couple of times on Instagram, I realize I haven’t shared much about it here.

This opportunity began last September, when the head of the family center approached me and asked if I would be interested in leading such a class. Given my experience supporting moms throughout nearly six years of pregnancy-related work, I was eager to take the next step—supporting families after their babies arrived. The chance to design my own curriculum and shape a program focused on families’ needs during the baby’s first year was truly exciting.

Last fall marked the launch of my first Mindful Mama Sensory and Support class, which was a wonderful experience. In the spring, I expanded to offer two classes, and now, with summer behind us, the next session is underway. This Wednesday, I held the first class of the new round with babies aged zero to six months, and it went really well!

It is a privilege to spend time with these new moms. For many participants, this is their first class with their newborns, and they are enthusiastic to connect with others and to discover ways to bond and interact with their babies. They’re eager to learn simple activities to stimulate their babies’ sensory experiences and to cherish these precious early moments.

Teaching this class feels like a natural progression from my previous work with pregnant families. I am thrilled to be able to guide and support parents during their first year of parenthood as well. If you’re interested, I’m currently teaching at the Familienzentrum im Westend, and all the classes are conducted in English.

Additionally, I want to mention that the scope of the classes will be expanding soon—more details will be shared in an upcoming blog post.

Have a fantastic day!
